Let’s talk a bit about plastic surgery before and after images. How are you supposed to view before and after images?
Well, you look at them with a grain of salt. It’s important to understand that we’re human also and we’re not going to show you pictures that we don’t think are good. And we do try to resist showing you pictures that are too good, while also giving you a sense of security that your result will be good and natural and not look done.
You should realize that before and after images from plastic surgery procedures are an information tool but in some ways it is kind of a selling tool as well. So as I say, take it with a grain of salt.
So, how can you use before and after images as a tool for helping you choose a plastic surgeon?
You should look at the pictures and see that every patient has a natural look. That if you are looking at nasal surgery, rhinoplasty, that everyone doesn’t have the same nose. And a man who is 6 ‘4 doesn’t have a tiny little nose like a 5’1 woman. The idea is your features are supposed to fit your face. You’re supposed to look the best you can look. You’re supposed to look natural and it should be undetectable. And really that’s the key. That’s what you should be looking for when reviewing before and after images from surgical procedures.
And for this reason, we take a very conservative approach when it comes to before and after images at our NYC surgical practice. We do not showcase any before and after surgical photos on our website.
I respect the privacy of my patients and do not mention patients’ names or show their pictures on our website or social media, even if we have approval.
During your consultation,we will review before and after photographs that show proper results from various procedures. These are people who have given us approval to use their images and it can show you everything that you are looking for.
