Male breast reduction Goals

The goal of a male breast reduction is to remove the excess fat accumulation in the chest area to give the chest a flatter, smoother, and more masculine appearance. This can improve self-confidence and lifestyle for many.

Male breast reduction Candidate

Men who are experiencing excess fat within the breast area can be a candidate for this surgery. Many factors can contribute to causing Gynecomastia and Dr. Imber will discuss all variables during your consultation.

What to Expect During Your Male breast reduction

Dr. Imber and nurses will review all surgical details prior to your appointment. Generally, Dr. Imber will make incisions along the areolae or along the bottom of the breasts to remove excess glandular tissue. The length of the incisions will be based on the severity of the gynecomastia. Liposuction may be used during the process to remove any excess fat from the area.

Recovering From Your Male breast reduction

Most patients can expect to feel sore for several days, but pain can be managed with medication. If surgical excision of the breast tissue is involved, the recovery process will take some time. Patients may need to wait a week or so before they are able to resume their normal activities. Our nurses will review all recovery guidelines with you.
