S-LIFT FAQ ▾

S-LIFT Procedure

The S-LIFT is another type of Limited Incision Facelift Technique and designed to address the earlier stages of facial loosening. An S-LIFT tightens the skin and underlying muscle, lifting everything from the forehead to the upper neck area. The S-LIFT is named for the incision because it makes a lazy S-shape. The S-LIFT may be appropriate if skin laxity is present in the temporal areas of the forehead and the lateral areas of the eyebrow.

What is S-LIFT Surgery?

The S-LIFT is part of the Limited Incision Facelift family. It addresses the earlier stages of facial loosening. It differs from the Limited Incision Facelift Technique only in the upper aspect of the incision, which in the case of the S-LIFT curves like an S into the scalp. This incision is necessary to lift and smooth temporal areas of the forehead.

S-LIFT Goals

The goals of an S-LIFT are to lift and smooth temporal areas of the forehead, improve nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and correct jowls.

During your consultation with Dr. Imber, you will discuss all of your goals and he may suggest adding on other surgical procedures, such as microsuction and fat transfer, to help achieve the best results.

S-LIFT Candidates

Generally, it is a good time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Imber if you notice skin becoming loose and changes in the structure of the face. Other signs that it may be time for a surgical consultation include facial wrinkles and folds, jowls, and softening of the cheekbones.

What to expect during you S-LIFT

Dr. Imber will review the entire S-LIFT procedure with you leading up to your surgical appointment. He will go through where the incisions and all details you should be aware of. Recovering From Your S-LIFT

Recovering from a surgical procedure varies for each patient. Typically, recovering from an S-LIFT is very similar to a mini facelift and limited incision facelift. Immediately following the S-LIFT surgical procedure you can expect to experience swelling. Most can return to work by day 10. You may have some bruising. If a Blepharoplasty or any other surgical procedure is added to the Facelift, recovery can change.

Dr. Imber and his nurses will provide all recovery information for you during your pre-operative appointment and the morning of your surgery. If you have any questions, our nurses are available to help and there is always a doctor on call.
