C-Lift FAQ ▾

C-Lift

Located In New York City

The C-Lift is a cousin of the Limited Incision Facelift Technique. Dr. Imber began offering this least invasive operation to men over 15 years ago. It gained wide acceptance in his practice for a number of reasons. Most men are concerned primarily with jowls and loosening skin under the jawline and neck. When dealing with men, several anatomical differences from women must be respected when performing the C-Lift in New York City.

Dr. Imber is an internationally renowned plastic surgeon and has performed over 25,000 surgical procedures. He performs a full range of cosmetic surgery procedures in his New York City practice, popularized the S-Lift, and developed the Limited Incision Face Lift Technique. He has dedicated his career to helping his patients look as good as they feel, and always strives for the most natural results.

C-Lift

The C-Lift facelift technique was developed around male facial anatomy, targeting concerns like jowls and sagging skin under the jawline and neck, which is much different than women’s. While Dr. Imber can use this technique on women, it is rare. This technique encourages the most natural looking results without the appearance of scars.

C-Lift Goals

This surgical procedure focuses on tightening the drooping skin under the jawline and neck, and eliminating the jowls and nasolabial folds.

C-Lift Candidates

Ideal candidates for the C-Lift are men displaying visible signs of facial aging like loose skin under the jaw, jowls, and nasolabial folds. The general recommendation for facelifts is to have them in one’s early- to mid-forties to enjoy longer-lasting results, so men around this age may consider getting a C-Lift.

Men struggling with lax muscle tissue in their cheeks, sagging neck skin, and noticeable wrinkles around the nose and mouth are good candidates for a C-Lift. Ideal candidates are in generally good health and are non-smokers or are willing to stop smoking during their C-Lift journey.

YOUR C-LIFT consultation

A C-Lift consultation with Dr. Imber will focus on your appearance goals and eligibility for the procedure. Surgical techniques to be performed will be discussed to ensure that you are prepared for your C-Lift and know exactly what to expect. Dr. Imber will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Additionally, his team of nurses and surgical coordinators will be available to help you throughout the entire process.

YOUR C-LIFT procedure

A C-Lift procedure will begin with administering anesthesia. Dr. Imber’s board-certified anesthesiologist will call you prior to your surgery to review all details.

Next, Dr. Imber will make a small C-shaped incision within the sideburn, sometimes extending into a natural crease for an inch or so. A small incision may also be created under the jaw to remove skin and help tighten the muscles.

The tissues will be lifted and excess tissue will be removed. The incisions will then be closed with sutures and secured with skin tape.

Recovering From Your C-Lift

Everyone recovers differently. Most can return to some sort of normal routine about 10 days after surgery, but it varies for everyone. Dr. Imber’s team of nurses and patient coordinators will review all recovery guidelines with you before and after your surgical procedure. Dr. Imber’s team is always available to answer any questions and help make your recovery as easy as possible.

After the procedure, you may feel a little tight around the jawline and ears on the first night. You may take prescription pain medication to address any discomfort you may feel. Make sure to visit Dr. Imber for your scheduled follow-up checkups.

Any swelling, discoloration, or tenderness will slowly fade after a week. It helps to put an ice pack on the swollen areas and to keep your head in an elevated position when sleeping.

Ensure that you avoid shaving for around two weeks or at least until the incisions are fully healed. You should also avoid any activity that will involve sun exposure. If you cannot avoid going outdoors, make sure to apply sunscreen regularly.

Initial results will be visible right after the C-Lift, and full results will be apparent once all swelling is gone.

How Does A C-Lift Work?

Dr. Imber will review the entire C-Lift procedure with you leading up to your surgical appointment. The C-Lift is one of the least invasive facelift options because it effectively improves loose skin and jowls with very concealed scarring in the sideburn and under the chin.

What Type Of Anesthesia Will I Receive?

Dr. Imber’s board-certified anesthesiologist will call you the night before surgery to review all guidelines necessary the morning of your surgery. Prior to this, Dr. Imber’s nurses will advise medical clearance and discuss any other guidelines to follow before your surgery. Most patients receive local anesthesia with sedation and Dr. Imber’s anesthesiologist is on site the day of your surgery.

Are There Any Non-Invasive Alternatives?

If you are a candidate for a facelift, there aren’t any non-invasive options that can yield the results you are looking to achieve like that of a C-Lift.

Do I Need Any Special Garment Or Bindings?

Dr. Imber’s team of nurses will provide you with everything you need in advance of the surgery and are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Why Do I Need A Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon?

A board-certified plastic surgeon holds the highest levels of education and training needed to deliver the best results. This qualification is not easy to achieve, so by using a board-certified plastic surgeon, you know they meet the standards of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Will There Be Any Scarring?

The C-Lift focuses on natural results with little visible scarring. While results vary for every patient, Dr. Imber will review expectations during your consultation and pre-operative appointment.

How much does a C-Lift Cost?

Actual surgical pricing will be determined at the time of consultation. Schedule your consultation with Dr. Imber today by emailing or calling our office at (212) 472-1800.
