Aging begins around the eyes and can result in hollowness under the eyes, also known as the tear trough. The hollow is due to the loss of fat/volume in the area and can cause you to look tired. There are a couple of ways to correct this including surgery and minimally invasion procedures during an office visit. Here are two options you can consider!
1.Hyaluronic Acid Filler
The use of filler for the under-eye area is very common and can be performed during an office visit. Tiny droplets of filler will be injected in this area to fill in the hollow tear trough. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes and the results can last up to 12 months. You can see results almost immediately with full results in 2 weeks. Slight bruising may occur but it varies based on the patient.
2. Fat Transfer
Permanent correction to the under-eye area can be achieved by filling it with fat. A Fat Transfer is the process of transferring living fat cells from one area to another that needs filling, like your tear trough. This is a more invasive surgical procedure that needs to be performed under anesthesia but is much more permanent than commercial fillers.
